Devin's Style

I asked Devin to get ready to go run errands and this is the outfit he came out of his room wearing. I guess Grandma Fran's preschool lessons on what we wear during different seasons isn't clicking.

Nutcracker 2009

The girls did a amazing job in their annual Hot Shot Nutcracker. Desi was a mouse this year and Ariana was a little party girl. Desi and Ari practiced in my kitchen for weeks leading up to the performance. Ariana loves the stage and cried each time it was over because she wanted to dance some more.

Ariana loves dancing on stage, you can see it in her face as she beams and smiles. After intermission I went to grab Ariana from the dressing room. She was pointing to one of the girls and said, "I need one of those." I thought the little girl had something she wanted, and she did, but it was her outfit. Ari said, "I need you to get me one of those outfits and put it on me because I'm not done dancing yet." I told her that wasn't her part and she wasn't even old enough to be a candy cane dancer yet. I had to take her out crying, "but mommy the outfit is so pretty, and I'm not done dancing."

The second night she danced I went to grab her at intermission and I walked into the dressing room and there is my Ariana in the candy cane outfit in line and ready to go on stage. She blended in very well. I looked at her and asked, "Why are you in that outfit?" She smiled at me and got shy. One of the dressing room helper moms overheard me and said,"she told me she was a candy cane dancer." "I'm sure she did", I said. I got some great pictures of her and all the moms that heard the story from the night before got a good laugh when they walked in and saw her in the costume. If I would have been 2 minutes later they would have been walking backstage where I'm sure Colleen the director would have saw her and grabbed her. Her daddy is worried that if she is ever an understudy she is going to push someone down the stairs. Ariana is priceless with the things she says and does. She keeps me on my toes and laughing.
