Bountiful Baskets

I'm super excited about my collection of fruits and veges this week. I get all of this stuff through a food co-op called bountiful baskets. It's all volunteer based and non-profit, so all the savings go to the consumers. They do ask that you do help out with the volunteer side, but they aren't super strict about it. I've even heard that if you are volunteering at least 2 hours a month in your community that it counts. With my MOPS group hours and Church, I meet that easily.
You get different fruits and vegetables each time, which is kind of fun to try things I might not buy in the store. The location in Utah County is in Springville, which is kind of a bummer drive on Saturday morning, but they are looking for a North County location right now. For more info on it, here is the web page.

Anyway here is my loot, I got all of this for $15 pretty cheap.
2 bags of carrots
head of Romaine lettuce
head of broccoli
4 red onions
bunch of spinach
lunch bag bursting full of red potatoes
head of cauliflower-(green variety, it's a cross between broccoli and cauliflower)
10 apples
12 Roma tomatoes
8 oranges
1 melon
8 lemons
13 bananas

Really?

I got this cool calendar for Christmas with a spot for each person's activities, super cool!! But, I just have to laugh at the attached pocket that says, "use this handy storage pocket for coupons, notes, stray $100 bills!!!! OK, maybe I'm poor, OK I am poor, but really who keeps stray $100 dollar bills in their calender. And why are we calling them stray! If anyone has stray $100 dollar bills, I can give them a big loving home in my purse.

My confession

I hate mornings, they really suck!! People think I'm joking when I tell what time I wake up. Really I don't even think about waking up until 8:30 then I watch the news until almost 9, no this is not the weekend schedule this is every day for me. Desi has to be school by 9:15, I start asking her from my cozy warm bed of course, if she has brushed her teeth and done her hair(she prefers to do her own hair and can even manage a pretty good ponytail). I never make breakfast, the kids have a choice, yogurt, fruit, cereal, or Eggo's. Honestly my kids didn't even know that real homemade waffles existed until a couple of months ago. Maybe it's not morning I hate, maybe I just really love sleep.

I'm a person that needs a lot of sleep to be human, in fact my kids are the same way. My kids can sleep 12 hours at night and still take a 2 hour nap in the day. I love this as a mom, but I'm sure it's going to suck for my kids in college trying to cram for exams. It's hard to fit nap time in now with preschool in the afternoons, so we only catch a nap a couple of times a week. I always know when my kids need a nap, because they get mean tempered.
Before Devin was born and I was working full time, my shift started at 5Am, I did this for 13 years. It didn't get easier to wake up early, it still sucked big time. I was always tired and could fall asleep just about anywhere. I can wake up early, but everyone is going to pay the price, and I like myself a lot better when I sleep in.

Snow Fun

The kids had a blast sledding a evergreen park! Devin insisted on going down alone most of the time, which made it hard for him to come back up the hill on his own with the sled. But, Devin always wants to do things his way, he is a Adams kid for sure.
Go Desi

Ariana perfected the skill of going down the hill without a sled. She lifted up her feet and arm and slid down.
